in spring 2006, at her first official launch to the trade, laura, still a new designer to the industry,
was sought after by the high street retailer topshop.
she was invited to design a diffusion range exclusively for their oxford street store.
the collection is an affordable take on her designer range, but still demonstrates laura’s commitment to
fine materials. inspired by a vintage maid’s outfit, she uses the brightest of white cottons, the prettiest
broderie anglais, and the strictest uniform checks. a well behaved colour palette is enhanced with
accents of rich dark green and racy bright red.
each pair of knickers, as always, has her signature pretty lining and is finished with her tiny ‘trademark
ribbon bow.’she has given each style in the collection its own name; millie, molly, florence, polly and
ooh la la….‘so,’ she asks, ‘which one are you?!’
laura brooks for topshop will be launched at topshop, oxford street, London in march 2007.
